The Christmas message

The world has known and seen great messages- messages of valor, of resilience, of change, of freedom and victory, but none so great as the message that God brought to us at the first Christmas. The message is great because of its:

1) Simplicity: The understandability of this message is remarkable because of its simplicity despite its theological intricacies and cosmic implications. That God was born in human flesh to be the messiah and the ransom for many was understood by simple people on that day and ever since.

Galatians 4:
But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.

2) Universality: In one stroke of masterful display of love, grace and judgement, God sent His only Son for the redemption of people in every tribe and every tongue. It applies across the spectrums of time and space. Everyone who will ever be saved and taste of the goodness of God in eternity will only be saved because of the Lord Jesus.

John 3:
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Galatians 3:
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

3) Immutability: The message of Christmas is timeless in that it stretches to the extremes of eternity. It needs no addition, no re-invention. There was never a "Plan-B".

Hebrews 10:
10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Revelation 13:
and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

4) "Impactability" (Impact-ability): The message has power to change individuals, nations, cultures, times and values. The fact that recorded history is divided by the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is an expression of the impact of Christmas.

II Corinthians 5:
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
